Igor Gasparini has been dancing since he was 12 years old. He began his training with street dance and, over many years, has been focusing on different dance styles of hip hop culture. He turned professional at the age of 17, starting his career in an important urban dance company in the city of São Paulo and also dancing with pop artists in the commercial and TV dance scene. At the age of 18, Igor started his training in contemporary dance and began to elaborate a contemporary thinking of urban techniques, a fundamental hallmark of the research of T.F. Dance Company, which this year celebrates 24 years of existence under his direction.

Academically, Igor Gasparini holds degrees in Journalism (from PUC-SP) and Physical Education and Health (from USP). He has a postgraduate degree in Cultural Journalism, with an emphasis on Dance Criticism (from PUC-SP), a Master’s degree in Communication and Semiotics also from PUC-SP, and a PhD in Performing Arts from the Institute of Arts at UNICAMP.

He is the Director and Performer-Creator of T.F. Cia de Dança, which has received funding from the 20th, 24th, 28th, 32nd, and 37th editions of the São Paulo Dance Incentive Program and the PROAC grant for the Circulation of Shows in the State of São Paulo (2016, 2020, and 2022). He received the APCA Award for Best Dance Premiere with ELO in 2019 and was nominated for the APCA Award for Creation | Choreography with RASTRO in 2024 (www.tfciadedanca.com.br).

Professor of Professional Technical Dance Courses at the Tania Ferreira Academy and at the ETEC de Artes – Centro Paula Souza; he was also a professor in the Bachelor’s and Licentiate degrees in Performing Arts at the UNESP Institute of Arts. He was an artistic mentor for the Vocational Dance Program of the São Paulo City Hall for 4 years and assumed the artistic-pedagogical coordination of the Program in 2021, in addition to participating for 4 years in the Dance Qualification Program of the State Government of São Paulo.

He has collaborated with artists and dance groups such as: Grupo Zumb’Boys, Núcleo Pedro Costa, Coletivo O12, KD Cia de Dança, Grupo DivinaDança, Cia de Performance, and Bombelêla Dance Company. He received the Best Choreographer Award in the Dance category at the 10th Brazilian Youth Awards and was part of the Brazilian cast of the BTS group’s show. He directed the movement for the “New Dance Order” stage at The Town 2023 Festival. He choreographed ÂNIMA for the Pantanal Dance Company.

He was invited to teach workshops in Arhem, Netherlands, and Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia. He completed advanced training in New York City, USA, at the Broadway Dance Center. He has also taken courses in various urban and contemporary dance styles in other locations in the United States, Spain, France, the Netherlands, and Italy.
