TRACE

Release

“The past becomes our source of inspiration; the present, an arena for breathing; and the future, our collective aspiration” – Ngugi wa Thiong’o.

Spiral fragments of time. A trace of movement, memory, and repetition. How does the body launch into a relationship with what it produces itself? It is the presence of an absence. Moments that have already passed and continue to fade. A trace of the future as well—an echo that announces itself before sound. Trace as something that comes before and follows an action, at the same time as it becomes a reminder of what has already gone.

Traces, marks, waves, reverberations, tracks, presences, ghosts, occurrence. Trace as a path of sweat that runs through the body. It is the flash of the now that has gone. Trace as choreography that speaks with each space; trace as a crossing and as a silhouette that forms in the insistence of repetition. Trace as presence: a dance of the now, of the diversity of bodies, of the ways of doing-thinking-feeling-acting of T.F. Cia de Dança.
