Border Bodies

Synopsis

The work reflects on the plurality of bodies beyond their visible social markers. Despite their diverse backgrounds, the artists unite in the belief that individual differences empower one another when acting as one, opening up micro-fissures in how we understand the world today. In times of social segregation, we contend with a crossing of mental boundaries, not just physical ones.

A longing for the encounter; the possibility of recognizing one’s own body as a border; a kinesthetic experience wrapped in a ritual of sharing. Border Bodies seeks to capture a portrait of the human state—collective, connected, clustered—in constant search of interaction and association. Amidst the silence of isolation, we rediscover and reinvent ways of being together. On stage, the hierarchies between social roles are tested and, at best, questioned and reorganized.
